Bela Padilla revealed the reason why she is unable to undergo egg freezing.
In an interview with television host Boy Abunda, the topic came up after he mentioned that Bela's close friend, Kim Chiu, had previously undergone the procedure.
When asked if she would consider doing the same, Bela said: "Actually, she asked me a few years ago if we would do it together because we're the same age. But I can't, I can't do that for medical reasons."
The actress expressed her happiness for Kim for being able to do the medical procedure. "I'm very happy for Kim that she took that step in her life, you know, if this is what she really wants to do," she stated.
The A Special Memory star also shared her personal outlook when it comes to motherhood and life plans. "Ako naman kasi, my thinking is more, if it’s meant for me, it will happen one day. But if it’s not, then I feel like there are other options," she highlighted.
According to www.hfea.gov.uk, egg freezing is "one way of preserving a woman's fertility so she can try to have a family in the future. It involves collecting a woman's eggs, freezing them and then thawing them later on so they can be used in fertility treatment."
In the same interview, Bela also opened up about her current relationship status after she posted on social media about receiving a bouquet of flowers on Valentine's Day.
"I don't have a boyfriend. But, I mean there is somebody [who's] been making me smile," she disclosed.
Bela was previously in a relationship with Swiss national Norman Bay. In August 2025, the actress revealed that they parted ways.
Bela previously revealed in an interview with Karen Davila in September 2025 that their separation was mainly due to her decision to return to the Philippines.

"I think it was really just the reality of me moving back here. We had a talk, like it was a very mature conversation. We spoke about my moving back here. And I asked him, what are your plans for the next five years, the next ten years? Do you see yourself moving here also? And at that time when we first had that conversation, he very bluntly said no," she stated.
Bela emphasized that she fully respected Norman's decision to remain in London, acknowledging that he has built a strong and fulfilling career there.
"I super respected that 'cause I am the same too. If he asked me back then, 'If I ask you right now to get married so you would stay, would you say yes?' I would've also said no. So, I feel like we both knew where we had to be. And he has such a beautiful career also in London, he has such a good job. I feel like he has found his purpose also," she remarked.
