Parokya ni Edgar frontman Chito Miranda shared a moment of vulnerability as he opened up about missing his family while away for work.

In a social media post, Chito revealed that he had difficulty sleeping during an out of town gig.

“Kagabi, di ako makatulog. I was sad about something...na parang di ako mapakali. Last night, I had to leave home at around 10 pm kasi may gig kami mamaya dito sa Bataan. Dumating kami dito sa hotel kanina around 3 am tapos medyo nasenti ako,” Chito expressed.

He noted, “It always happens to me pag mag-isa ako sa malaking hotel room tapos wala pamilya ko...it feels empty kahit gaano pa kaganda yung room. Namiss ko family ko and felt guilty kasi malayo ako sa kanila. Feeling ko di ko sila naaalagaan.”

To ease his emotions, Chito said he reminded himself of the time he spent with his children before leaving.

“Ni-remind ko sarili ko na I played basketball with Migs nung hapon, played hide n seek with him and his friends nung gabi. Tapos nasamahan ko naman sila ni Cash sa birthday party nung friend nila nung Friday after ko sila samahan sa football practice nila. So I guess nabibigyan ko naman sila ng sapat na oras pag wala akong gig. With that in mind, nakatulog na ko.❤️,” he shared.

Upon waking up, Chito said he felt lighter after learning from his wife, actress-entrepreneur Neri Naig, that their children spent the morning playing outdoors with their friends, even getting muddy in the garden.

“Pagkagising ko, Neri said na pinalaro nya daw si Migs and Cash sa garden with their friends nung morning at naglaro sila sa putik...which also made me happy kasi alam ko na kahit wala ako, Neri is there naman to take care of them and make sure na masaya silang naglalaro outdoors,” he expressed, finding comfort in the assurance that their kids were well taken care of even while he is away.

Chito also shared how he and Neri have agreed to spend less time on their gadgets especially when they are with their children, to be more present as parents.

“Neri and I also agreed to spend less time on our phones lalo na pag kasama namin mga anak namin… para mas present kami,” Chito said.

Chito went on to describe his idea of success, explaining how he never aspired to be extremely wealthy or live a flashy lifestyle. Instead, he finds contentment in a simple and balanced life.

“May nabasa ako recently na parang ’di ko kelangan at never ko hinangad maging super yaman na tipong Lamborghini driving kind of rich’...ok na ko as long as I get to bring and fetch my kids sa school, not worry about bills, nakakain namin yung mga trip namin kaninin, may free time ako magpaka-healthy na tipong pwede ako mag-gym ng Tuesday ng tanghali, masahaman ko asawa ko mag-S&R pag trip nya, tapos pabanda banda lang ako kasama ng tropa, masaya na ko sa ganung buhay...yun na yun,” he said.

The realization ultimately lifted his spirits, with Chito concluding that he is grateful for his life and simply missed his family: “Di na ko nalungkot. I am reminded that I am blessed and I guess namimiss ko lang talaga pamilya ko hahaha yan tuloy, ang haba na ng kwento.”

Chito’s post resonated with many netizens, as he continues to share personal reflections about fatherhood, marriage, and life as an artist, offering a glimpse into the quieter moments behind his life on and off stage.
