The Voice USA season 26 winner Sofronio Vasquez took a trip down memory lane as he marked the one year anniversary since he entered the singing competition. The Kapamilya singer shared on his official Instagram account how he hadn’t comprehended that he would take home the trophy.
Sofronio is the first Asian to win the prestigious singing competition. He was mentored by Canadian singer and songwriter Michael Bublé.

The Filipino singer shared the selfie he took before stepping on stage at the singing competition over a year ago. He didn’t know back then how the show would change his life forever–– giving him opportunities on the international scene.
“It's exactly a year ago when I showed up to @nbcthevoice for Season 26. With a very excited selfie, I didn’t realize I will be in the finale and win it,” he wrote.
Apart from the selfie, Sofronio shared the behind the scenes for his photos he had taken back then.
Fans expressed in the comment section how happy they are with the achievements that the Filipino singer has done over the past year since he last won The Voice USA. Other netizens applauded him and are hoping to see him in the 28th season of the singing competition to which Sofronio replied enthusiastically.

The Filipino singer took home $100,000 as prize money and was automatically signed with a record label in the US as part of his winnings. In a previous interview with Karen Davila, Sofronio revealed that he will use the money as an investment for music.
“Kasi music talaga eh and now I was given the chance to penetrate the mainstream which is America, gagamitin ko talaga 'yun. Kumabaga if I have to produce myself, if I have to reach out to people, big names, always naman akong ganun, kumbaga, a no is a no, and a yes is a yes. So try lang ako. Kung makatanggap ako ng no, then move on to another,” Sofronio previously shared.
Meanwhile, Sofronio recently released two singles under ABS-CBN’s Star Music––"Nandito Lang" and "Patient." The two tracks are now available on all major streaming platforms available.
