Kapuso singer and actress Mika Salamanca shared that she doesn’t pay any attention to her bashers anymore as compared to when she was younger. In an interview with King of Talk Boy Abunda earlier this week, the Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition Kapuso Big Winner explained how she only reacts when her family gets dragged into the conflict.
Prior to entering the PBB house, Mika has been a hot issue on social media–– even having the moniker "Controversial Ca-Babe-Len ng Pampanga."
The Kapuso star acknowledged that entering the showbiz industry means getting some form of bashing in one way or another.
“Alam ko kung ano yung pinasok ko–– alam ko yung mga kailangan kong isacrifice. Sa lahat naman ng trabaho ganun. Kahit saang trabaho meron kang kailangan isacrifice para may makuha din. Niready ko yung sarili ko sa mga bashing, sa mata ng tao, at tsaka sa loss of privacy,” she shared.
Mika then admitted how she would answer back on some of the wrong comments made against her. But growing older and being in the industry for several years already, she claimed she has learned how to take the high road.
“Before, aaminin ko, very patol ako talaga kasi bata ako nag start–– hindi ko pa naiintindihan. Kasi pag may alam kang katotohanan sa sarili mo tapos makikita mo sa internet na binabash ka for a wrong view, siyempre ikaw sarili mo unang maiisip mo hindi yun totoo. Kailangan ko mag salita,” she said.

“Pero ngayon tumanda ako, natutunan ko na mas hindi sila pansinin kasi the more na binibigyan mo sila ng attention, the more na mag proproduce sila ng something na irereactan mo… Kaya ako ngayon, dedma talaga. Laging may ganyan,” she added.
While she pays no attention to the bashers, she revealed that she still gets affected when her family gets dragged into issues by some of the netizens. She maintained that her family shouldn’t get bashed as they’re private citizens.
“Kasi ako, tulad ng sinabi ko kanina, pumasok ako sa industry na to–– niready ko yung sarili ko, alam ko yung pinapasukan ko. Pero yung family ko kasi, hindi sila pumasok sa industry na ‘to. Hindi sila kasama sa akin. So hindi sila ready kung ano pwedeng matanggap nila,” she expressed.
“Pagka binabatikos sila, sila yung binabash, doon ako nasasaktan talaga. Doon ako nagiging super defensive,” she continued.
Despite all of the comments she receives from her bashers, Mika has continued to show her authentic self and made sure to prove her doubters wrong through her actions. Previously, she donated the prize money she received as a Big Winner to a charity to the delight of her fans.
