Kapamilya actress Iza Calzado expressed her frustration over the recent flood control scam that’s been unfolding over the past several weeks. In her Instagram account, she shared how she is one with the Filipino people who are hopeful that something will change in the near future.
Iza is one of the concerned celebrities who have used their platform on social media to raise awareness about the flood control scam which has been affecting the lives of every Filipino.

The Kapamilya star, who’s been in England alongside her family, admitted how hard it is for her to hear the news all the way from another country. She shared how she doesn’t even want to share photos of her vacation with her family as she deemed it would be tone deaf to do so.
“Ang hirap dahil wala ako sa Pilipinas at malayo ako. Nakikibalita lang sa mga kaibigan habang tinitignan ang laman ng news at social media. Pakiramdam ko wala akong magawa dahil ang layo ko,” she wrote.
“Ni hindi ko ma-share agad ang mga pictures namin dito dahil para bang hindi nararapat at napapanahon. Gusto kong makiramay at makiisa sa lahat ng mga kababayan ko. Malaki na ang nawala sa atin at tama lang na tayo’y magalit at magluksa,” she added.
Just like any other Filipino celebrity who has had enough, Iza maintained that she is feeling all the emotions just hearing and seeing what’s happening in her home country.

“Hindi ko alam anong sasabihin at gagawin ko. Tulad ng marami, nadurog ang puso ko. Nagalit. Natawa sa ibang memes at post. Nagalit muli sa karagdagang mga balita,” she expressed.
Despite this, Iza asserted that people shouldn’t rely on another politician or a person to fuel the change that everyone’s been wanting. She maintained how everyone should start within themselves and learn from the mistakes moving forward.
“Ngayon ay nagtitipon na ang mga tao at unti unti nang naliliwanagan ang taong bayan. Hindi natin dapat iasa sa iisang tao o grupo o politiko ang pagbabago; kundi, TAYO mismo ang magbabago nito. Umaasa ako na mararating natin ito, at sana’y matuto na tayo,” she said.
The celebrity mom is hopeful that those who are involved in the corrupt practices will be found guilty as she doesn’t want darkness to rule the Philippines.
“Sana’y managot ang mga dapat na managot… Habang nakatingin ako sa ulap, aking ipinagdarasal ang ating mahal na Pilipinas. Nawa’y maghilom ang ating mga sugat at hindi na natin, muli pang hayaang manaig ang kadiliman sa ating sarili, at sa ating bayan,” she ended.
