Dina Bonnevie opened up about how she is coping with the loss of her husband, Deogracias Victor "DV" Savellano, months after his passing.

In an interview with Boy Abunda, the veteran actress shared that she is now in a better state in her grieving process.

"I'm okay. I'm coping. I can say I am much, much better now than January perhaps I think when you called me... I was terrible then but now I'm okay," she stated.

Dina shared that she has come to several realizations that helped her slowly stand back up.

"I've been through a lot of realizations understood why, not really understanding, but making my own reasons why probably God took him first. But I'm better now and this [House of D show is] helping me a lot kasi sabi ko gusto ko na mag-work kasi parang I'm so depressed, I want to get out of my depression. Parang I want to be busy, I want to do things and I wanted instead of looking at my grief parang how can I make other people happy? Change the negative to positive. How can I inspire people?" she shared.

The actress also recalled how, amid her grief, she felt God's voice reminding her to shift her perspective. "Parang a voice was telling me: 'Why are you focusing on what you don't have, on what you no longer have? Why don't you focus on what you still have, to start all over again or to prosper yourself, to glorify My name or to do something that has purpose in your life?" she recounted.

The actress added that prayer has become her greatest tool in overcoming her loss.

"Every day I would pray lang; para bang Lord order my steps, bring me to where I need to be to be able to fulfill your purpose in my life. Bring the right people to me at the right time, at the right place. Open my eyes, open my ears so I can see the doors of opportunity that are opened to me," she said.

DV passed away last January due to an abdominal aneurysm.

The couple got married in 2012.
