It’s Showtime host Ryan Bang and fiancée Paola Huyong received valuable pieces of advice about navigating married life from the former’s Korean mother ahead of their wedding.
In Ryan’s most recent vlog, his mom, who recently visited the country, engaged in a meaningful conversation with the soon-to-be-married couple.
Ryan’s mother simply told them to always be there for each other and foster happiness inside the household.
“Dapat (you) respect each other, protect each other, save each other. [You] have to work hard but [it’s] important na sa loob ng bahay, may happiness,” Ryan translated his mom’s words.
She also added that that they should stay committed to each other despite the challenges that they will inevitably encounter along the way.
“Ang mga tao daw ‘pag pinanganak, isang beses lang daw ang wedding sa buhay nila,” shared Ryan of his mom’s reminders. “So, it will be harder, maraming pagsubok sa buhay, may problema. Pero ‘yung promise natin, hanggang sa pagtanda, hanggang mamatay, dapat together. Basta hanggang the end, sama-sama daw tayo.”
Ryan was also reminded to work hard for his future family, emphasizing that as the head of the household, it’s his responsibility to provide for them.
“Bawal daw ako tamad. ‘Pag may asawa na ako, lalo raw (dapat) ako mag-work, lalo daw ako mag-sipag, bawal tamarin,” relayed Ryan.
Describing Ryan as “hardworking,” Paola made a promise in front of her fiancé’s mom: “We will help each other, definitely.”
Speaking of building a family, Ryan’s mom said she only wants two grandchildren from them.
When asked about her ideal family size, Paola replied: “I want a big family, maximum of three (kids).”
Engaged in 2024, Ryan and Paola will be having their “main wedding” in Manila this coming 2026.
Ryan’s mother fully respects the couple’s decision for their wedding.
“Kasi we will live here tapos ‘yung buhay natin nandito sa Pilipinas. At ang mga pamilya mo lahat nandito kaya okay din sa kanya na ang wedding natin dito sa Manila,” Ryan explained on behalf of his mom.
Highlighting her future mother-in-law's unconditional love for Ryan, Paola assured her that he will be in good hands.
“I can’t put it into words how much your mom loves you,” she said. “That’s why I told your mom that my family and I will also be there for Ryan no matter what happens. We’ll also take care of him. We will treat him like family, definitely. And my mom loves him so much so you don’t have to worry anymore.”
