Even though he did not follow in either of his parents' footsteps in showbiz, Luigi Muhlach is now known as a chef in his own right. The son of former celebrity couple Aga Muhlach and Janice de Belen talked about his latest business venture in an Instagram post last July 14.
Since 2016, the 38-year-old entrepreneur had already experienced opening a restaurant in Tagaytay and then two years later, another restaurant in Greenbelt, Makati. This year, Luigi takes his love for local sausages to the next level by leveling up their store for his artisanal sausages.
With unique longganisa flavors like spicy Bicol Express, Sinigang Hubad, and his family favorite Kaldereta & Cheese, the Tagaytay City-based chef shared how this idea to expand the business with his wife Patty first started.
“I’ve always been a fan of sausages. During a quiet season in Tagaytay, I felt the urge to make something of my own—so I started crafting longganisa from scratch. It was a solid product. I sold a few packs, got great feedback, but had to stop when I got caught up building a restaurant.
"While I was deep in the grind, my wife Patty wanted to get the longganisa out there—sell it in our village and at our kids’ school. But things got busy and it never really took off. Now here we are. What started as a side project is now something real. I’ve got a full-blown commissary, a solid team of resellers and exclusive distributors, and honestly, I don’t see myself going back to the restaurant scene anytime soon.
"This isn’t just longganisa. It’s the kind of food I want on my own table—no extenders, no nitrates and no added preservatives. Welcome to the new longganisa era. Something we can be more proud of 🫶🏻🇵🇭 These are staples at home. Hope you like it as much as we do”

In another post, Luigi gave his followers a last look at where his product first grew. He wrote, “3 months ago we launched Artisan Longganisa @bychefluigimuhlach. We were making longganisa at home with the help of our household staff. Last month we decided to lease a small space, hire staff, put up a commissary and was able to cater to the heavy influx of orders we received. Thank you @masarapba for spreading the word and giving us a great kick start! Give credit where credit is due 👌🏼
"Tomorrow we are expanding and moving to a much bigger space and hopefully be able to build a full blown commissary in the next couple of months so we can start creating new artisan longganisa flavors and launch a new line of artisan filipino deli products. Main goal? To ship this globally and be able to open filipino delis in other countries as well. Anything international sounds great to me 🤣
"I'm posting this because I'm proud of myself and hopefully i get to motivate whoever needs motivation right now. I've met so many people, created small food stalls, joined food markets, put up restaurants, ran a hotel kitchen, invested so much time, endured so many heartbreaks, betrayals and back to back failures through out my career as a chef and as a provider for my family. Not to mention all the personal shit that has happened to me during my career struggle. But not once did i ever quit. I don’t know what's in store for me in the days ahead but it sure smells like 🚀 to me.”

Contrary to what the public may think, Luigi did not cruise through life riding on his famous parents’ success. In a 2024 interview for Ogie Diaz’s vlog, Aga revealed why he stopped supporting his eldest son financially so that he can also learn to be independent and self-sufficient just like him.
"Hindi sa ayaw kitang bigyan. Hindi ko naman puwedeng sabihin na wala akong pera, 'di ba? Kailangan niyang magtrabaho talaga. Sinabi ko sa kanya, apat 'yang anak mo, ta-trabahuhin mo 'yan,” Aga shared.
From time to time, Luigi would share his bonding moments with his dad Aga like when they play a round of golf together. Last February, Luigi and his kids Alejandro, Adriana, Anya, and Ariella enjoyed some water activities with their lolo while spending time at their fun beach getaway at the Beach and Nature Club in Bataan last February.
