It’s been more than a week since Korean superstar Song Joong-Ki's first fan meeting in Manila, but the fever is still high for volleyball player Melissa Gohing.

Melissa, the wife of actor Rocco Nacino, was one of the lucky few who not only met the South Korean actor but also shared a special moment with him.

Still feeling ecstatic, she took to Instagram on Monday, June 2, to share some highlights of her once-in-a-lifetime experience.

“I can't believe I played charades with @hi_songjoongki,” Melissa wrote in the caption.

“From his video greeting for my birthday last year to meeting him and playing a game with him in person! My K-drama heart is happy,” she added.

Melissa expressed her gratitude to her husband who has been supportive of her interest in Korean drama.

“Thank you, @nacinorocco,” she expressed.

Rocco accompanied his wife during the event which was held last May 24 at the Mall of Asia Arena.

But Melissa was not only one who was lucky that night, as Rocco was recognized by the South Korean actor during the event.

According to reports, Joong-ki remembered the Kapuso actor after he was included in a video containing fan messages which was played during the event. The South Korean actor pointed him out from the crowd.

Rocco and Joong-ki previously met at the Busan International Film Festival in 2024.

In an interview with GMA News, Rocco, who was admittedly touched by the unexpected recognition of the Korean superstar, said his gestures was a testament to his humility.

“He’s very humble and for him to remember people na nakapag-picture sa kanya, that’s a very big thing,” he said. “Bilang isang aktor, I want to be as humble as him. Marami siyang naalala sa mga fans niya, ganun talaga siya yumakap. It’s a good reminder para sa akin na dapat minamahal mo talaga mga fans mo.”

In the same post, Melissa shared how K-dramas played a vital role when she was dealing with post-partum depression.

For her, the special encounter she shared with her Korean idol is a “Mother's Day gift (that) is hard to beat.”

Aside from Melissa, Janice de Belen, who is also an avid fan, was among the happiest fans during that night as she received a bouquet and got the chance to hug her idol multiples times.

The IAM Song Joong-Ki: Live in Manila event was staged by wellness brand IAM Worldwide.
