MANILA -- Vicki Belo and Hayden Kho have launched "The Scar Project" in celebration of the Belo Medical Group's 35th anniversary.
Kapamilya stars Donny Pangilinan, Iza Calzado together with Catriona Gray, Alden Richards, Julia Barretto will be taking part in the humanitarian project.
According to Belo, they will select seven individuals who have been scarred, physically and emotionally, by an accident or traumatic experience in the past to undergo a life-changing transformation, under the supervision of their doctors and experts.
"Scars are really painful reminders of a traumatic incident in your life. We really want to help them," said Belo.
"We hope this will change their lives and will not be reminded anymore of the trauma, they will feel more self-confident, and happier and that's the whole point," she added.
During the launch in Makati, Kho shared how Piolo Pascual's driver, Rissan, was accidentally scarred by a grinder. The scar covered nearly half his face before he was brought to Belo's clinic for treatment and surgery.
"The Scar Project is something that we're doing to celebrate the Lord and our 35th anniversary. Instead of spending millions on throwing parties, we would rather spend that money on something substantial like this," Belo said.
