After starring in her very first film project Song of the Fireflies earlier this year playing the role of the famous Loboc Children’s Choir founder Alma Taldo, singer and actress Morissette Amon already has her hands full preparing for another big milestone in her career. She shared with PUSH ABS-CBN in an exclusive interview about why having a baby with husband Dave Lamar is not yet in the cards for them this year.
“Definitely not right now pa. Kasi I think we both, together and separately, with our careers, we have a lot on our plate. Right now, I’m gearing up for my 15th year in the industry so I’m working on that. I’m trying to work on that with my team and also Dave is producing a lot for other artists naman and writing his own music as well. And so there’s so much right now and also we’re very busy with our time with our two dogs,” she told PUSH ABS-CBN.
The couple, who currently live in a condominium, are admittedly both very committed fur parents to their two dogs, Kahleo and Koa.
“We travel a lot also but we try to make time. Kasi we didn’t want to have a dog just to have dogs. Like we want to consciously make it a good life also for them. So it’s also our responsibility bale. We really like to take time na ilabas talaga sila and make memories with them also. Mag-ti-three and two years old na sila this year. They’re both beagles with Hawaiian names. It was random lang. Kahleo was the first one. I think it was music-related. I think Kahleo means sound in Hawaiian. And then sabi namin when we got our second dog, we might as well keep the theme of the letter K and Hawaiian pa rin so Koa naman which means wood. So ayun (laughs),” she explained.
Since getting married to her fellow The Voice of the Philippines alumni Dave Lamar, Morissette said she has discovered some new things about her husband of three years.
“Naku marami (laughs). I realized how much of a workaholic Dave is. And he enjoys it. I’m the same way but he’s like next level. He’s very generous with his time. Yung parang, to offer his help to people not just to me but to a lot of our co-artists sa Underdog (Music). Ang dami niyang tinutulungan. He’s very generous with his talents and skills. That’s what I discovered,” she shared.

Morissette first joined showbiz at the age of 14 when she emerged as runner-up in the TV5 talent search Star Factor in 2010. She gained more popularity when she joined the first season of The Voice of the Philippines in 2013. She is also known for her acting and hosting skills in theater and TV. She is currently working on her new album which will be produced by her husband Dave.
