KZ Tandingan expressed how her husband and fellow artist TJ Monterde is a source of inspiration for her personally and professionally.
"Si TJ kasi sobrang grateful ako na siya 'yung husband ko kasi when I am struggling as a person and especially as an artist, lumilingon ako sa kanya kasi this person also waited fifteen years to be where he is right now and fifteen years is an awfully long time to wait for the opportunity that you're meant to get," she pointed out in an interview in the latest episode of SB19's Time First podcast.
The singer described TJ as a constant reminder not to give up on her dreams. "May iba, year one pa lang, [sasabihing], 'Okay na ako. This is not for me...' But to wait fifteen years and to not give up, ibang courage 'yun, ibang strength 'yun. So whenever I feel like giving up on myself and sa career ko, siya 'yung reminder," she highlighted.
She further highlighted that TJ’s journey has deepened her trust in God's timing. "Time is something that we cannot control. Time is something that we can try running with or running against but we can never win against time. But the only thing that I am sure of is kung ano 'yung ginawa ng Panginoon for TJ na akala niya naubusan na siya ng oras," she said.
Reflecting on her own journey, the "Mahal Ko o Mahal Ako" hitmaker admitted that she sometimes experiences doubts about her career. But seeing how things turned around for TJ reminds her that more blessings can still be in store.
"Kasi 35 na ako, like there is no chance for me to achieve all these things anymore because I'm past my prime years. But if you remember one of God's miracles is He turned water into wine. 'Pag gumawa ka ng wine, it takes years for it to be ready pero ang ginawa ng Panginoon, in a snap of a finger, He was able to compress time. And iyon 'yung ginawa niya kay TJ. Lahat ng mga bagay na pinagdasal niyang mangyari sa fifteen years, binuhos sa kanya ng Panginoon in less than a year," she said.
KZ believes that in God's time, she will receive the blessings she prayed for. "So iyon 'yung pinanghahawakan ko na [Lord] I am not able to control time, but You can. I may feel like I am running out of time now, but You are able to compress time. So if I don't give up, and while I'm waiting, I'm gonna stay ready for the blessings that You're gonna give me and then You will give these things to me when I'm ready. And when You're gonna make it rain, You're gonna make it rain hard," she stated.
