Actress Lotlot de Leon remembered her mother, veteran actress Nora Aunor, on her 40th day since her passing. The celebrity daughter expressed on her Instagram account earlier this week how much their family misses the award-winning actress.
Nora passed away last April after a medical procedure, according to her son, Ian De Leon. She was 71 years old at the time of her passing.

Lotlot penned a letter directed towards her late mother in her Instagram post. She shared how, despite it already being 40 days since she left, not a single day goes by without them thinking of her.
A simple and solemn gathering by their family was held at the resting place of the veteran actress. A priest, who came all the way from Palawan, celebrated the mass with them and made her recall the words of wisdom she once heard from Nora.
“I couldn’t help but remember when you told me and Matet, ‘Magmahalan kayong lima, ha.’ Ma, hanggang ngayon, yang bilin mo—susundin at isasabuhay namin. Sure na sure naman ’yan,” Lotlot wrote.
Nora, whose final resting place is at the Libingan ng mga Bayani in Taguig City, was surrounded by flowers which was arranged by several people contacted by Lotlot.
“The weather was kind—warm, but the breeze carried a gentle peace that comforted us. I know this is what you would’ve wanted—simple and solemn,” she added.
Lotlot then admitted that despite her mother being gone for more than a month already, it’s still a hard process for her.
“It’s still hard, Ma. There are moments when I have so much I want to say, I can’t put [it] into words. But when I think of you, and I know you’re in a better place—kasama na sila Lola—somehow, I find peace,” she said.
Despite this, Lotlot remained hopeful that she and her family will get over the grief and will continue to live the legacy that Nora has cemented in their hearts alongside millions of Filipinos.
“Rest now, Mommy. Kakayanin namin ‘to. Kaya namin—dahil dala-dala ka pa rin namin sa puso namin,” she ended.
