Maymay Entrata took to social media to express her gratitude to the people who offered their condolences and sympathies to her. The post came days after she announced the passing of her beloved mother, Lorna.
“Maraming salamat po sa lahat ng dumalaw sa lamay ng aking ina, at sa mga nagpadala ng bulaklak at pakikiramay,” she wrote in Instagram post.
Maymay's post was accompanied by a video of a calm sea where the sound of the waves can be heard from the background.
The Pinoy Big Brother: Lucky 7 edition winner emphasized that the comforting words and gestures she received were helpful and greatly appreciated.
“Sobrang nakatulong ang presensya at suporta niyo sa amin sa panahong ito,” she said.
“Every kind word, every gesture of love, and every prayer has brought us comfort and strength po talaga,” she added.
She concluded her short yet heartfelt message by reiterating her gratefulness: “From the bottom of our hearts, maraming salamat po.”
In an emotional Instagram post on Friday, May 16, Maymay confirmed the death of her mother from cancer.

The actress’s mother was an overseas Filipino worker who had worked in Japan but eventually returned home to undergo treatment.
Maymay’s post featured a special moment she shared with her mom in the said country.
“Mahal kong Inay, Isang malaking karangalan na ikaw ang naging Inay ko. Matapang mong hinarap ang lahat ng pagsubok at sakripisyo para maitaguyod kaming buong pamilya,” she wrote in her post’s caption.
Maymay expressed her gratitude to her late mom who was the one who taught her how to love unconditionally.
“Mamimiss kita Inay, mamimiss ko ang taong nagmahal at habang buhay mamahalin ako ng buo. Sa’yo ko natutunan ang mag mahal ng walang kapalit at habang buhay dala dala ko lahat ng natutunan ko mula sa’yo,” she said.
The grieving actress advised her followers to express their love for their families and loved ones.
“Hangga’t maaari, [kung] kasama niyo pa ang mahal niyo sa buhay, yakapin niyo sila, iparamdam niyo kung gaano niyo sila kamahal, at huwag niyong sayangin ang kahit isang araw na hindi ipinapakita ‘yon,” she said.
