Selena Gomez opened up about her decision to wear multiple gowns at her wedding to Benny Blanco.
The actress-singer wore three custom-made Ralph Lauren gowns for the occasion. She began the day in a high-neck silk satin gown for her first look, changed into a lace gown for the ceremony, and later wore a white midi dress for the reception.
In an interview on The Jennifer Hudson Show, Selena revealed that privacy was her top priority, which influenced her decision to switch outfits.
"I tried to do this sneaky thing. I'm sure you can relate," she told Jennifer. "I didn't want anyone to get photos of my wedding unless it was from me. I keep my life as private as I can."
She went on: "So that dress was initially for the [first] look (referring to the satin gown) and then this one (referring to the lace gown) one was made by Ralph Lauren, they all were, but this was my favorite dress."
Selena and Benny tied the knot on September 27. Following the wedding, Selena shared on social media the different wedding gowns she donned during the big day.
It was in December 2024 when Selena announced her engagement to Benny.
The singer-actress made the announcement on her Instagram page, posting a snapshot of her engagement ring.
"Forever begins now," the singer-actress wrote.
The couple worked together in the past on Selena's tracks "Single Soon" and "I Can't Get Enough."
It was in December 2023 when Selena confirmed via social media that she was dating Benny. At that time, the actress revealed that she had been dating the music producer for six months already.
She also commented on a fan account that time saying: "He is my absolute everything in my heart."
In a previous interview with TIME, Selena revealed that she initially planned to adopt and become a single mom before meeting and falling in love with Benny.
"I was alone for five years, and I got really used to it. A lot of people are afraid of being alone, and I probably tortured myself in my head for like two years being alone, and then I kind of accepted it," she admitted.
"Then I came up with my plan, which was that I was going to adopt at 35 if I had not met anyone."
The actress relayed that she met Benny at a time when she least expected.
On what she admires most about her boyfriend, Selena remarked: "He has such strength in him that none of that noise fazes him. It’s really impressive, and I just cherish every moment with him. I don’t know what the future holds, but I do know that he's not going anywhere any time soon."
