Gabbi Garcia discussed how she handles her finances and the discipline she learned early in her career.
In her interview with Boy Abunda for The Interviewer, the actress-host shared that she began managing her own money at a young age. "I'm blessed that my parents allowed me and trusted me to take care of it at a very young age. I took control of my money when I was like 22," she relayed.
She added that she gained a lot of financial insights by handling her own money early on. "As in I learned the basics. Natuto akong mag-deposit mag-isa sa bangko. 'Yung ganun in my early 20s... I was blessed that I was able to take charge of my earnings at at a young age and I learned so much," she stated.
When asked if she is "kuripot," the actress replied: "Hindi naman ako kuripot pero... I am very wise when it comes to money. Ma-shopping ako yes, pero ang akala kasi ng mga tao talagang winawaldas ko ang pera ko but no. I have my budget for that."
She shared that her parents serve as her mentors when it comes to investments. "I invest, I make sure to put it in the right places... My parents are there always. My parents they always tell me, you know what at this age we are already your consultants in life," she said.
She also has a financial advisor who helps her diversify when it comes to investments. "I have a financial advisor who takes care of my money when it comes to investing to stocks, shares, bonds... For me growing up, hindi pwede 'yung kasi tayong mga Pinoy di ba, natutuwa tayo 'pag tumataas ang bank account natin di ba, it's so satisfying pero no you have to put it where it will grow," she stated.
