MANILA (UPDATED) -- Actress Rufa Mae Quinto surrendered to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on Wednesday upon her return to the Philippines, about a month after her camp confirmed the issuance of an arrest warrant against the comedienne over an alleged investment scam.
Quinto arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) with her family at around 5 a.m.
According to the NBI, they received information last Monday that accused Quinto would like to voluntarily surrender to NBI International Airport Investigation Division (IAID).

Upon her arrival, she was escorted to the Bureau of Immigration (BI) and eventually turned over to the NBI after her referral from the immigration in view of an Alert List Order connected to her warrants of arrest.
Quinto was charged with 14 counts of violation of Section 8 of the Securities Regulation Code in relation to the cases filed by investors against skin care company Dermacare.
She was then brought before the Pasay Regional Trial Court branch 111 where she processed her bail.
Based on the report, all cases are bailable at ₱126,000 each, amounting to a total of ₱1.7 million.

At present, Quinto is at the NBI-IAID office in Pasay after reportedly experiencing a headache.
Her legal team is currently processing her bail, with hopes of securing her release later this afternoon.
The actress had said previously in a statement that she was "also a victim" of the alleged scam.
"I have no connection whatsoever to any fraudulent activity and I categorically deny these baseless accusations," Quinto earlier said.
