Sofronio Vasquez is still on a high after reaching the Top 8 of the 26th season of The Voice USA. During a video interview on noontime show It’s Showtime, earlier today November 29, the Tawag ng Tanghalan alum expressed how he was able to make it this far because he continued dreaming.
Sofronio made it to the Top 8 of the prestigious American singing competition after his impeccable performance of Roy Orbison’s "Crying" during The Voice Playoffs.
He shared how amazing it feels to represent the country and seeing himself reaching different nationalities on social media. He revealed how words of the netizens boosts his confidence and his pride of being a Filipino singer.
“Sa totoo lang talaga, ilang beses ko na napapanood yung mga posts nila and ngayon marami na akong nakikita na nagrereact. Dati nanonood ako ng mga pinag rereactan na video, ngayon nakikita ko sarili ko. Totoo pala yung usap-usapan na kinikilig na naiinspire mo sila. The words na lumalabas sa bibig nila, it really counts na magbibigay sa'yo ng confidence,” he shared.
When asked how different the playing field is between the local and international stages, Sofronio admitted that his experience in the Philippines helped him a lot throughout the competition.

“Totoong sagot to sa tanong mo, mas matibay yung labanan diyan sa atin. Kasi, sa naexperience ko sa Tawag ng Tanghalan, everyday we practice songs. Everyday hinahantay natin yung mga areglo,” he said.
“Dito kasi, weekly siya so minsan sobrang haba ng time. Ang masasabi ko sobrang laking bagay. Sa Tawag ng Tanghalan, I don’t know if napanood niyo, ang laking bagay sakin na nakasali ako sa Tawag ng Tanghalan kasi talagang kumbaga nabatak ba ako. Laking advantage,” he added.
Meanwhile, Sofronio is set to battle it out once more and prove himself to be part of the semifinals this coming December 2. Voting opens after the December 2 episode, 5 p.m. E.T., and until the following morning, 7 a.m. E.T.
