CANDON, Ilocos Sur — Josh Ybañez was named to the Dream Team of 2026 SEA V Cup Leg 1 after claiming the Best Libero award, Sunday at the Candon City Arena.
The University of Santo Tomas star served as Alas Pilipinas Men's primary anchor on defense, helping the home squad defend against the attacks of Cambodia, Indonesia, and Myanmar.

Alas Pilipinas eventually finished fifth after seizing the classification round match against Myanmar. The Filipino spikers lost to eventual finalists, Cambodia and Indonesia, with the former defying the odds to clinch a breakthrough SEA V Cup title.

Also with Ybañez on the Dream Team are Cambodia's Veasna Voeurn (MVP and Best Outside Spiker), Indonesia's Farhan Halim (Best Outside Spiker), Vietnam's Truong The Khai and Indonesia's Hendra Kurniawan (Best Middle Blockers), Thailand's Napadet Bhinijdee (Best Opposite Spiker), and Cambodia's Soun Channaro (Best Setter).
Ybañez and the rest of Alas Men look to bounce back in Leg 2 of the tourney, scheduled for July 22-26 in Jakarta, Indonesia.
