CANDON, Ilocos Sur — Vietnam survived a five-set scare, stopping Southeast Asian neighbor Indonesia in the 2026 AVC Women’s Cup on Monday at the Candon City Arena here.
The defending champions hacked out a 18–25, 25–22, 25–18, 19–25, 15–13 victory to keep their perfect slate in Pool B, tying Kazakhstan at 3-0 in the standings.

The Vietnamese and Kazakhs are currently on pace for an outright semis spots after their triumphs today.
The latter won over Iran earlier in the day, 13–25, 25–20, 25–14, 25–19.

Meanwhile, Chinese Taipei overcame a Set 2 loss to beat Australia in Pool A, 25–20, 17–25, 25–22, 25–19, to cap off Day 3 of the tourney presented by the PSC, FIVB, AVC, Volleyball World and Candon City headed by Mayor Eric Singson.
Yi-Chi Chang led her squad with 21 points on 18 attacks and three aces, as Chinese Taipei remained pristine at 2-0.
Alas Pilipinas tormentor Australia, for its part, absorbed its first loss.
