CANDON, Ilocos Sur (UPDATED) — Kazakhstan bucked its slow start to beat Iran, 13-25, 25-20, 25-14, 25-19, in the 2026 AVC Women’s Cup at the Candon City Arena here on Monday.
Leading Pool B with a 3-0 win-loss card, the Kazakhs remained on pace to a semifinal berth after the triumph.

Kristina Belova had 23 points on 21 attacks and two blocks, while Tatyana Yatskiv had 13 points on 10 attacks and three blocks. Yuliya Fomenko had four of Kazakhstan’s 11 blocks, finishing with 10 points.
Meanwhile, Hong Kong vented its ire on Lebanon earlier in the day, 25-20, 25-8, 25-13, after absorbing a straight-set shellacking at the hands of Vietnam.
It was HK’s first win of the competition presented by the PSC, FIVB, AVC, Volleyball World and Candon City headed by Mayor Eric Singson.
