MANILA — The Alas Pilipinas Men soared to No. 77 in FIVB world rankings following their monumental 29-27, 23-25, 25-21, 25-21 win over a higher-ranked Egypt at the 2025 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship on Tuesday at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
It was 11 places higher than their previous ranking, as they entered the match as World No. 88.

For its part, the visiting Egypt side had fallen to No. 22, only dropping by one rank as former No. 21.
Should Philippines enter the Round of 16, if they win against Iran on Thursday, the team is expected to rise further in the rankings.
The Iranians are currently ranked 14th, proving to be as tough as Egypt, if not better.
