MANILA, Philippines – National University (NU) Lady Bulldogs head coach Sherwin Meneses isn't here to pay attention to what people would say.
Meneses, who had just won his first UAAP title, has now solidified his credentials in the collegiate level after already winning seven professional titles in the Premier Volleyball League with the Creamline Cool Smashers.
He previously coached the Adamson Lady Falcons from 2012-2016, but was unable to lead the team to a championship.

Despite fielding criticism for handling teams that already have depth, talent, and winning cultures in both NU and Creamline, Meneses says he is just doing his job and paying no mind to what the public has to say about him.
"Sa 'kin naman, every training, every game, talagang 'yun 'yung trabaho namin so nandito lang naman kami para mag-guide sa mga players. Wala naman sa 'min kung ano'ng masabi nila," said Meneses.
"Basta pag binigyan ako ng trabaho 'yun lang naman 'yung--every day na mapuntahan natin 'yung team na hinahawakan natin so 'yun naman 'yung pinakaimportante. Bahala na sila sa buhay nila," he added.

The soft-spoken mentor, after taking the reins from Norman Miguel just before this season started, led the Lady Bulldogs to a successful title defense.
And he was glad for a job well done.
"Siyempre, sobrang saya, nandito tayo sa stage na naglalaro sa Finals. Thankful sa mga players ng NU kasi first time ko nga (UAAP title). Iyong chemistry medyo nabuo sa maiksing panahon. Iyon, masaya," Meneses shared.

Meneses hopes that this won't be his last collegiate crown: "Hopefully, magkaroon ng mga kasunod, aside sa pro."
