MANILA, Philippines – Cuban import Wilma Salas is donning a different red jersey as she plays for a Philippine team once more.
Salas, who previously played for the Petro Gazz Angels, is now sharing the taraflex with the PLDT High Speed Hitters.

She had a victorious debut for PLDT, helping the PVL squad smash Australian club Queensland Pirates by registering 10 points and 15 digs in their quick 25-19, 25-12, 25-12 triumph in the AVC Champions League on Sunday at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig.
Salas explained that it was her decision to choose PLDT while sharing that she had talks with Petro Gazz ahead of the continental tilt.
The 34-year-old volleyball standout led the Angels alongside the late Janisa Johnson to a PVL Reinforced Conference title in 2019.

"Yes, I talked [to Petro Gazz] but I made my decision and I came here," said Salas.
The Cuban spiker said it was an "easy decision" to return to the Philippines.
"I finished my season in Italy. Coach, PLDT called me and [asked] ‘Wilma, okay, are you free, are you ready?’ [I said], ‘I’m ready, I go to you, I go to Philippines.’ It’s an easy decision," said Salas.
Salas honestly bared that there's not much of a difference between PLDT and Petro Gazz, only the people and their approach towards the game.
"The difference is like, nothing. It’s only about the coach, different coach, different approach, go more. The coach is a good person, the girls are good persons. I think it’s like the same. Nothing much of a difference, really."
