After holding a 1-2 record, the Lady Spikers now sit at 3-2 in the standings all thanks to their Saturday victory over University of the East, and heading their charge vs. the Lady Warriors was La Salle star Angel Canino.
Canino led the Taft-based hitters to victory despite a setback in the second set as she posted 20 points on top of 10 digs and nine receptions, but for the former UAAP rookie-MVP, La Salle still needs to focus on limiting their errors as they committed 25 vs. UE.
“Kitang-kita naman po siguro yung errors namin lalo na nung second set,” she said during the postgame presser.
“So kailangan po naming i-work on yung errors namin, and bawal mag relax. Ano man po yung result ng previous sets, kailangan all out pa rin. I think, we’re all complete naman, it’s just that pabaya kami sa errors namin,” she continued.
For the Lady Spikers to achieve this, what they need to do instead, emphasized Canino, is focus on themselves and block the noise that they mainly get from comments outside their circle.
As La Salle’s team captain, Canino shared how she takes the responsibility of reminding her teammates to stay locked in.
“Wala namang makakatulong sa social media, at ang makakatulong lang samin eh yung bawat isa,” she said.
Canino also took note of the importance of keeping each and one another in check every single game.
