MANILA, Philippines – Choco Mucho playmaker Deanna Wong shared the importance of teamwork and familiarity among them as the Flying Titans saw their unbeaten streak stretch to four games.
Wong, 26, who has been a mainstay for the Flying Titans, pulled the strings again — this time against Akari in the 2024-25 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference on Saturday at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.
She tallied tallied 11 excellent sets in their four-set 25-21, 19-25, 25-23, 25-15 triumph versus the Chargers.
The Flying Titans are currently riding their best run in the all-Pinoy volleyball tilt — and for Wong, it was their team effort which led them to that.

"'Yun nga, teamwork. Hindi naman kasi isang tao lang makakapanalo ng game. So 'yun, 'pag off ng receive, cover ng palo, parang connected lang talaga siya sa gagawin namin, and happy, kasi onti-onti, we're reaching the goal na gusto naming marating, so masaya kami na ganito," Wong said.

The former Ateneo standout acknowledged that they have to overcome slow starts and off days together.
"Oo naman, hindi naman palagi...kilala ko sila. Matagal na kaming magkasama, but hindi natin ma-deny 'yung fact that there are off days. Kailangan lang din talaga namin ng timing. 'Yun lang sabi ni Coach Dante [Alinsunurin] sa 'min lagi na we have to get a rhythm, 'yung timing sa ginagawa sa court," she said.
"Advantage siya na matagal na kami magkakilala, but I think, kailangan din namin malaman kung kailan at anong gagawin at this situation."
Fellow star player Sisi Rondina also shared what she thinks the difference — this time — in their winning streak. It was their ability to react whenever their opponents get ahead.
"Ang napansin ko lang ngayon is 'yung 'pag nauunahan kami, ah, nagre-react agad kami kung ano 'yung gagawin," said Rondina.
Now at 6-3, the Flying Titans aim to notch their fifth straight victory against Nxled at the same Metro Manila arena. First serve is at 4 p.m.
