PASSI CITY (UPDATED) – Coming from a five-set stunner against Creamline, PLDT continued its winning ways by trouncing Zus Coffee in straight sets, 25-20, 25-16, 25-15, in the 2024-25 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference on Saturday at the City of Passi Arena in Iloilo.
The High Speed Hitters have nabbed their eighth win in the conference, officially sealing the number 4 seed and will face their Passi rivals again in the qualifying round.
After PLDT's win, Choco Mucho is now also secured of the number five seed, regardless of the result later in the day.
"Happy na nakuha nang three sets, happy rin sa mga players na nag-step up today mga usual. Saka ang mindset today i-perform 'yung para sa pairing din kasi sila rin 'yung makakalaro namin," said coach Rald Ricafort in an interview with reporters.
"So, happy na na-control 'yung game," he added.
Fil-Canadian spiker Savi Davison was again on the forefront of PLDT's efforts, listing 17 points on 14 attacks and three blocks, while middle blocker Majoy Baron breached twin-digit scoring territory with 10.

In a losing effort, Chai Troncoso, a native of Pavia, Iloilo, put on a show for her "kababayans" as she logged nine points and six excellent digs to pace the Thunderbelles.

Michelle Gamit had eight points, while Thea Gagate added six markers.
