(UPDATED) The Alas Pilipinas Women absorbed a tough 17-25, 14-25, 17-25 loss at the hands of Vietnam in the semifinals of the indoor volleyball competition at the 33rd Southeast Asian Games in Thailand on Sunday.
With the loss, Alas Women are relegated to the bronze medal match, as the triumphant Vietnamese side are through to the gold medal match.
Coach Jorge de Brito said his cogs played "good," but the consistency is still not there for the national team.
"Well, not about the result, but about the consistency that we want. It's not yet there. But they did good," he said.

The Nationals showed promise in the opening moments, going toe-to-toe with their rivals and even led at 15-14, until Vietnam finally got to their groove and unleashed an 11-2 run that defined the rest of the frame.
Riding that momentum, the Tran Thi Thanh Thuy-led squad cruised their way to the championship round, dominating the succeeding periods and will face the winner of Thailand-Indonesia encounter.

Vietnam prevailed in attacks (47-35) and aces (4-0), and pounced on Alas errors, gaining 18 from those.
Alas, for its part, will battle the loser of that game on Monday, December 15.
Alyssa Solomon still proved to be a crucial part of the Alas offense, tallying 10 points to lead the losing side, while Angel Canino had nine attack points, and Amie Provido had six points, including three kill blocks.
