RODRIGUEZ, Rizal — As quarterfinals-bound Farm Fresh emerges on top of the 2025 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Reinforced Conference standings, coach Alessandro Lodi gave credit to the players who had improved under his watch.
One of them is middle blocker Lorene Toring, who has refined her form, according to Lodi.
Toring contributed 11 points and four blocks in Farm Fresh's 25-23, 25-13, 25-11 straight-set triumph over Galeries on Saturday at the Ynares Center here.

It was her best showing so far in terms of scoring, as her previous bests were eight-point outputs against Petro Gazz and Choco Mucho.
The Adamson University product might not be a "star," according to Lodi, but she proves herself through the work she has done.
"[W]e do have some of the most improved players also. This [Lorene Toring] is one of them. It's one of the players that works, studies, develops, and might not be the most spectacular player, but if you look really play-by-play at the quality that she brings, the blocking work she does, how she improved her serve, everything she does, and she's not the only one on our team [that has improved]," he said.
With these kinds of players, Farm Fresh could really contend in the import-laden conference, asserted Lodi.
"There [are] many. But when you have those type of people, then you're not an easy team to beat. And we're not an easy team to beat. We might not win every game, but we will be there to fight," he said.
For her part, Toring is just staying patient, ready to elevate her game further to Lodi's standards.
"Well, para sa 'kin, madami pa 'kong iwo-work on. Pero getting there naman. Kasi nung pagdating kasi ni coach, as in back to zero kami lahat — serving, footworks ganiyan," said the 6-foot blocker.
"Tinaasan ko lang patience ko, na makukuha ko rin 'yung gusto ni coach [Lodi]," she added.
