MANILA -- One player has shone brightest for Savouge during their Cinderella run in the 2024 Spikers' Turf Invitational Conference.

Shawie Caritativo has been at the forefront of the Spin Doctors' campaign, taking charge on both ends of the floor as they remain in the hunt for a podium finish in the tournament.

The outside spiker was relentless against Criss Cross, putting up a game-high 25 points on top of 16 excellent receptions in what turned out to be a four-set loss last Wednesday.

But the Spin Doctors regained momentum heading into the bronze medal match by ripping DN Steel-FEU, 25-17, 25-22, 25-19, last Friday behind Caritativo's all-around performance of 11 points, 10 receptions, and eight digs.

The Spin Doctors will face DN Steel Far Eastern University in the battle for third on Sunday.

"One hundred one percent po ang happiness namin ngayon dahil nakapasok ang team namin sa semis at sobrang tuwa ni coach Sydney (Calderon). May chance po kami na magka podium finish kaya pa Christmas gift na rin namin kay coach if ever makuha namin yung bronze medal sa Sunday," shared Caritativo.

For his undeniable positive effect for Savouge, Caritativo was recognized as the Spikers' Turf Press Corps Player of the Week presented by Pilipinas Live for the period of December 13 to 15 — his second distinction after bagging the same honor two months ago.

The 23-year-old pride of Rosales, Pangasinan got the nod from print and online reporters covering the beat, edging out Criss Cross' Nico Almendras and Jude Garcia and Cignal's Jau Umandal for the final recognition of the season.

Despite his standout performance though, Caritativo is still not satisfied, looking to improve even further to push Savouge to greater heights and save the best for last on Sunday's finale streamed live and on-demand via the Pilipinas Live app and on www.spikersturf.ph.

"Eight out of 10 po siguro ang rate ko sa performance ko kasi minsan may off games ako, hindi araw-araw Pasko," he said.

"Siguro iimprove ko pa siguro lahat ng aspect like attacking, receive, blockings, at service para mas tumindi pa ako at kaming buong team sa next conference."
