MANILA, Philippines – After a rough start, Capital1 and Farm Fresh finally saw daylight, entering the win column of the 2024-25 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference.
The Solar Spikers (1-3) claimed their first triumph after overcoming Nxled (0-4), 21-25, 25-21, 25-15, 25-18, while the Foxies (1-2) nailed an upset victory against 2024 Reinforced Conference runner-up Akari (2-2), 25-23, 25-21, 25-14, on Saturday at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.
Heather Guino-o and Leila Cruz were the go-to duo of coach Roger Gorayeb, listing a total of 38 points to lead the Capital1 firepower, while Patty Orendain contributed 10 markers off the bench.

“Sobrang saya sa feeling kasi naipakita na namin kung ano 'yung mga pinaghihirapan namin,” said Guino-o, who delivered 21 points built on 19 attacks and two blocks.

The 5-foot-7 outside spiker led the team's epic comeback in Set 2, squashing the Chameleons' 20-12 cushion to equalize at one set apiece after a 13-2 rally.
That set the tone for the rest of the match, dominating the next frames en route to their breakthrough.
Meanwhile, skipper Louie Romero steered Farm Fresh with 19 excellent sets, orchestrating the Foxies' 43 attack points, led by Trisha Tubu who put up 21 points on 18-of-36 spiking.
"Super happy ako kasi ang laki talaga nung adjustment na ginawa namin. Talagang pinagtrabahuhan lang namin lahat. Nag-contribute lang kami and nagtiwala lang kami sa mga coaches namin kung papaano namin makukuha ‘yung game plan," said Romero.
This also marked the halt of Akari's mastery of Farm Fresh, as the Foxies finally snatched one since they started battling in the league during the 2023 Second All-Filipino Conference.
