MANILA, Philippines – EJ Laure bared Tuesday one reason why she joined the Nxled Chameleons in the 2024-25 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference.
For the former University of Santo Tomas (UST) ace, it was all seeking a new experience as she departed the Chery Tiggo franchise, her team for eight years including Foton.
On Monday, Nxled announced in a social media post that Laure has officially transferred to the team.

"Gusto ko lumabas sa comfort zone ko. And siyempre new experience din kasi since antagal ko sa Chery [Tiggo], parang bagong experience," said the older of the Laure sisters.
Laure revealed that her contract with Chery Tiggo has ended, also prompting her exit.
The 5-foot-7 outside hitter also said she aims to bring her brand of leadership to the Chameleons. Although, she wants to show it "in action."
"Siguro, leadership talaga [gusto kong dalhin]. And actually kasi hindi naman talaga ako vocal. Gusto ko talaga yung parang in action ko gawin bago ko, parang hindi sila nape-pressure."
Laure also revealed she's still taking her time en route to a full recovery from an undisclosed injury. But right now, Laure said "she could play."
"Kasi dati nung nasa Chery [Tiggo] pa lang, parang nagre-recover pa rin talaga ako. So ngayon naman, nakakabola na ako."
The 27-year-old player said she's just waiting for a nod from Italian coach Ettore Guidetti.
"Siguro kasi depende kay Coach Ettore [Guidetti]. Kasi yun, since yesterday pa lang din ako nag-training sa kanila," she said.
"Okay naman si Coach Ettore sa training yesterday. May pasensya talaga siya sa akin since nagre-recover pa ako."
