Filipina tennis ace Alex Eala will face defending champion Leylah Fernandez in the Round of 16 in the DC Open.
With barely 24 hours to recover, Eala hopes to be in shape to compete against Fernandez.
“I’m super excited. It’s part of the job to bounce back quickly. So I’m going to do everything I can tonight to recover well,” she said after winning over China's Zheng Qinwen, 4-6, 6-4, 6-1.

The rematch between Eala and Fernandez is set as the first match on Center Court on Wednesday, July 29, with play beginning at 11 p.m. Manila time.
Eala looks to avenge her 6-1, 6-4 loss to Fernandez at the Stuttgart Open in April.
Fernandez, for her part, advanced to the DC Open Round of 16 after beating Magda Linette, 6-1, 6-4.
