Kristel Macrohon took the bronze in the women's 69kg category of weightlifting on Monday night, as the Philippine weightlifting team finished with a three-medal haul in the 2025 Southeast Asian Games.
Macrohon captured the country's lone bronze medal in Chonburi after a total of 221kg, built from a 100kg lift in the snatch and a 121kg lift in the clean and jerk.
However, her total was not enough to beat gold medalist Wongsing Phattharathida of Thailand (101-128-229), and silver winner Afriza Indah of Indonesia (99-128-227).
"Hindi ako masaya sa performance ko. Hindi ito ‘yung best performance ko pero masaya pa rin ako at grateful na nanalo pa rin ako ng bronze," said Macrohon.
The 29-year-old lifter, who had won gold at home in 2019, revealed that she suffered an injury in her right quad when she competed in the World Championships last October in Forde, Norway.
"Mahirap po pero ginawa ko best ko para ilaban ang Pilipinas," she added.

The team's 1-1-1 haul was a far cry from their output of two golds, four silvers, and one bronze in the 2023 SEA Games in Cambodia.
Elreen Ando bagged the country's lone gold in this edition after ruling the women's 63kg division, while 19-year-old junior lifter Albert Delos Santos got the silver in the men's 71kg.
Tokyo Olympic gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz only wound up in fourth place in the women's 65kg division.

John Dexter Tabique placed fourth in the men's 94kg category to end Philippines' stint in the biennial competition after going 152 kilograms in the snatch and 184 in the clean and jerk for a 336 total on Tuesday.
Sarat Sumpradit of Thailand clinched the gold medal with a 165-201-366, with Mohamad Syahmi Nor Ghazali of Malaysia taking the silver with 153-200-353. The bronze went to Xuan Dung Tran of Vietnam with lifts of 150-187-337.
Tabique bagged the bronze in the 2023 edition, but in the 89kg class.
