(UPDATED) Kayla Sanchez and Heather White scored a 1-2 finish for the Philippines in the women's 100-meter freestyle at the 2025 Southeast Asian Games, Friday night in Bangkok.
Sanchez claimed the gold after clocking 54.82 seconds, followed by White with a time of 55.36 seconds.
Singapore's Ting Wen Quah (55.60-s) completed the podium.
This is the second gold medal for Sanchez in Thailand, as she and White are also part of the triumphant 4x100m freestyle relay team.

Xandi Chua added another silver for the Philippines when she finished second in the women's 200m backstroke with a time of 2:15.73.
Thailand's Mia Millar took the gold at 2:12.95, while Indonesia's Adelia Chantika Aulia (2:16.39) got the bronze.
Another Filipina finalist, Chole Isleta, finished fifth with a time of 2:18.67.
Meanwhile, Gian Christopher Santos missed the podium in the men's 400m medley, clocking 4:27.59.
Santos could not sustain a strong start, and Vietnam's Quang Thuan Nguyen (4:19.98) and Hung Nguyen Tran (4:25.45) pulled away for gold and silver. Malaysia's Khai Xin Tan (4:25.98) scored the bronze.
