MANILA — The Philippine Embassy in Thailand on Thursday expressed its full support for Filipino athletes competing in the 33rd Southeast Asian Games.
Ambassador Millicent Cruz Paredes opened the embassy's doors to Team Philippines, welcoming them with open arms and has committed to helping the athletes' needs.
“I would like to address the Philippine delegation with great honor for being here,” Paredes said during the welcome reception for the Philippine delegation led by PSC chairman Patrick “Patò” Gregorio and POC president Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino on Wednesday night.

“I’m proud to all of you and the Filipino athletes, I know we will do good,” added Paredes. “I was there last night and we will continue to support all of you and just tell us how we can help you.”
Paredes met with officials Gregorio and Tolentino, as well as Chef de Mission Dr. Jose Raul Canlas and his deputy Jop Malonzo, Asian Volleyball Confederation president Ramon “Tats” Suzara, and POC board director Donaldo Caringal.
The Ambassador was also with House Youth and Sports Committee chairman Rep. Mike Dy, association heads Leonora Escollante (canoe kayak), Ali Sulit (judo) and Ricky Lim (karatedo) and PSC commissioner Walter Torres and executive director Atty. Guillermo Iroy.
