MANILA – Double Olympic champion Carlos Yulo was all praises for younger brother Eldrew after he qualified for four gold medal events in the 3rd FIG Artistic Gymnastics Junior World Championships.
Carlos was in attendance in the men's artistic gymnastics qualifications, and saw Eldrew advance to the finals of the individual all-around, floor exercise, vault and horizontal bar on Thursday in Pasay City.
"Super nakaka-proud po, especially sa high bar. Floor din ang ganda ng pinakita niya [Eldrew] po. Super nakaka-proud kasi nakita ko y'ung practice niya, talagang pinaghirapan niya po 'yun," he said.

(I'm very proud especially of his performance in the high bar. He also had a solid outing in floor exercise. I feel very proud because I saw he he practiced and he really worked hard.)
"Malaking bagay para sa kanya na ma-experience po especially 'yung ganitong competition eh. Kita niyo naman po, madaming magaling pagdating sa international, sila-sila din po magpapahirapan. Natutuwa ako sa pinakita niya and overall safe silang lahat," Carlos added.

(It's a big deal for him [Eldrew] to experience this type of competition. You've seen how many good gymnasts there are internationally, they will also end up facing each other. I'm just happy with what he showed and overall they're all safe.)
The Olympian reminded his brother to enjoy, focus on each apparatus, and relax.
"I-take niya talaga 'yung time niya. Each apparatus, huwag siya magmadali. Huwag niya kalimutan huminga. Kasi 'yun 'yung lagi niyang nakakalimutan kapag nasa competition kami. 'Yun lang. Enjoy kasi nagawa naman niya lahat 'yung training and preparations," Carlos said.
(I hope he takes his time. For each apparatus, he shouldn't rush. He shouldn't forget to breathe. That's what he always forgets when we're in competition. That's it. He needs to enjoy since he already did all the training and preparation.)
