MANILA -- Talks are now on-going for Manny Pacquiao's next match, with a rematch against American star Floyd Mayweather Jr. among his options.

The "Pacman" earlier said he will be again working with his old promotion Top Rank for an upcoming fight for January 24, 2026.

The Filipino boxing icon will reunite with his longtime advisor Michael Koncz and former promoter Bob Arum.

"There's a lot of ongoing negotiations right now. So it's hard to preempt what fight I'm going to push through. I'm waiting for the final negotiations but right now we have a lot of running negotiations for the fight," Pacquiao said at a press conference in Quezon City on Wednesday.

"There's a possible rematch with Floyd Mayweather Jr. And also there's a fight with [Vasyl] Lomachenko and another fighter. So soon, we're going to announce the final fight and decision of what fight we're going to push through," he added.

But when asked who he would choose to have a match with, the 46-year-old said it would be against the retired American boxer.

"I'd love to have a fight, a rematch with Floyd Mayweather. I hope the negotiations, we can understand each other and we can negotiate well," he said.

Mayweather and Pacquiao faced off in May 2015 in one of the most high profile matches in boxing history, with the American winning via unanimous decision.

Pacquiao said they are wrapping up and finalizing the negotiations before making an official announcement.

"Marami ring mga consideration. Inaayos pa namin. It's about to finish this past couple of days. Because of this promotion I think we can do so. Siguro after this we'll give you feedback about the negotiations," he said.

Pacquiao said the target date is the first quarter of next year based on initial discussions, but there is no definite venue yet.

International Boxing Association (IBA) President Umar Kremlev welcomed the possibility of Pacquiao's next bout being under IBA.

"If Mayweather [Jr.] will agree and Manny [Pacquiao] would like that fight. We will put it under IBA. And we'll put an IBA World title on the line," IBA Pro Director Al Siesta said.

The Filipino boxing icon last saw action in the ring in July, when he settled for a majority draw against Mario Barrios in their WBC welterweight title bout.
