MANILA – Defending the Reyes Cup crown is within reach for Team Asia, after another dominant outing on Day 3 of the tournament at Ninoy Aquino Stadium in Manila.
Team Asia won two of three matches to stretch their lead to 9-1 heading into the final day of the 2025 Reyes Cup.
It was a rough start for Team Asia when Team Rest of the World finally got on the board with a thrilling 5-4 victory.
World No. 1 Feder Gorst and Skylar Woodward put Team Rest of the World ahead 2-0 early, but two-time World Pool Champion Carlo Biado and Us Open Champion Aloysius Yapp rallied back to level the score at 2-2.
Woodward pounced on a crucial error from AJ Manas to give them the advantage.
Team Asia won two straight racks, with Biado forcing the hill-hill battle.
But in the decider, it was rookie Moritz Neuhausen that delivered the point for the visiting team, avoiding another sweep.
Vietnam's Duong Quoc Huang shook off a loss in the first rack against Woodward, who was confident following their team win.
"The Martian" showcased an out of this world performance, winning five straight racks to swing the momentum back to Team Asia.
Duong outplayed his American foe to cruise to the 5-1 victory.
In the final match, Biado and Aloysius Yapp dismantled the European pair of Francisco Sanchez Ruiz and Neuhausen with a 5-0 whitewash.
The Asian pair showed why they're reigning champions, putting on a masterclass to blank their European counterparts.
Their 5-0 victory put Team Asia on the cusp of winning another Reyes Cup title.
