MANILA -- Paper Rex has secured a spot in the upper bracket of VALORANT Masters: London after defeating LEVIATÁN 2-0 in their opening playoff match.
The Pacific team dominated Ascent before closing out a competitive Lotus to advance further in the tournament.
Ascent was a one-sided affair as PRX overwhelmed LEV with an aggressive and well-coordinated defense. Their unique composition and relentless pressure helped them cruise an 11-1 halftime lead before sealing a convincing 13-1 victory.
Pinoy fragger Adrian "invy" Reyes impressed in his second Masters series since joining PRX, posting 16 kills, 8 deaths, and 4 assist stat line on Sova during Ascent.
Lotus proved to be a much closer battle, with both teams trading rounds throughout the map. LEV held a narrow 7-5 lead at halftime behind a strong performance from Bruno "Neon" Rodríguez, who collected 19 kills in the opening half alone.
The score remained tight as neither side could build a significant advantage, reaching a deadlock at 10-10. PRX eventually pulled ahead thanks to a crucial eco-round win and a clutch 1v2 post-plant from Jason "f0rsakeN" Susanto, securing a 13-10 map win and the series sweep.
Paper Rex will now face Team Vitality in the upper bracket on June 16.
