MANILA — Up against both Off Campus x Toyomoto (Davao) and a partisan crowd inside the Mall of Asia Arena, D'Generals x Dynamix Creative (Pasig) turned to an unlikely hero to save the day in the Supreme 16 of the 2026 NBTC National Finals.

With the tally tied and 1.8 ticks to go, Yuan Pacheco received the inbound before rising for a baseline jumper that proved to be the difference for D'Generals x Dynamix against Off Campus x Toyomoto, 84-82, on Wednesday.

Fans flocked to the modern venue in Pasay to support the team from Davao which was looking for redemption after losing its crown in the Mindanao Regional Championship.

Time and time again, however, the Pasig-based squad had all the answers, as the two teams went at it until the final buzzer.

In the endgame, Off Campus x Toyomoto turned on the pressure on D'Generals x Dynamix top guns Jhilian Palis and Ruzzel Del Pozo, forcing Palis to inbound the ball to Pacheco who made the most of his good look for the game-winner at the buzzer.

That silencer was the San Sebastian big's first and only make inside the arc, as he wound up with five points, three rebounds, and three blocks off the bench, as Palis had 21 markers and Del Poso had 17 of his own.

Awaiting the Pasig-based squad in the Fantastic 8 is Division 1 defending champion Fil-Am Nation USA which made quick work of Homegrown Australia, 76-48.

The Fil-Ams were paced by Blaze Johnson who caught fire for 21 points on top of nine rebounds and two steals.

Another quarterfinals pairing will see UST x D'Generals wage war against Kieffer Alas-led Phenom NZ Blue Fire.

The Tiger Cubs stamped their class on Batang Tiaong RJ MEA, 70-59, behind Jhonlee Melano with 17 points, eight rebounds, and two assists.

Alas kept starring for Phenom with 11 points and five rebounds, but it was Ram Sharma who was the difference-maker with 15 markers, 12 boards, and five assists in their 85-72 triumph over University of the East.

The NCAA Season 101 boys basketball finalists, meanwhile, also advanced to the next round after taking care of their respective opponents.

'Grand Ol' League' champion Letran got the better of FilNation Select LA, 80-75, on the back of Justin Cargo with 22 points and 10 rebounds.

Up next for the Squires is Metro Manila regional champion Arceegee-St. Clare which ambushed North Luzon regional champion D'Generals, 87-80.

NCAA runner-up Arellano then outran and outgunned Batangas Mustangs, 96-85, thanks to the efforts of Johnray Ladica with 22 points, six rebounds, and two assists.

The Braves will be challenged by University of San Jose-Recoletos after it said no to Yes Mariveles, 78-77, with Fritz John Gonzales showing the way with 21 points, seven rebounds, and three assists.

In Division 2, the title defense of Top Flight Sports Canada continues after coming out on top of AG Sports Apparel, 76-71.

Malcolm Tyler posted a 14-point, 12-rebound double-double to go with two steals, as the Canadians now turn their attention to For the Win which breezed past MIC Australia Scope, 92-71.

Meanwhile, Mapua and San Beda are rumbling towards a semis showdown after whipping separate powerhouses.

The Red Robins pecked De La Salle Zobel, 75-43, also the same final score for the Red Cubs' clawing of Magis Eagles Cebu Landmasters.

However, Mapua and San Beda will first have to hurdle Playtown Exclusive, which defeated Seqouia Hotels Camp NZ, 89-64, and RSY Group of Companies, which beat Oasis Ballers Academy, 84-72, before they can rekindle their rivalry.

Other winners include Crossover Canada over Bayanihan Elite UK, 90-79, and Marlins Bulacan over Tumakbo USA, 89-86.
