MANILA — San Miguel finally made it to the win column of the PBA Season 50 Commissioner's Cup.
This, as the Beermen survived Converge in a nail-biting fourth quarter tussle, 103-99, on Wednesday at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.
Alec Stockton tried to keep his team in the hunt by firing a four-pointer, 99-apiece, but Don Trollano quickly broke the knotted score by completing his trip to the foul line around 27 seconds left on the fourth quarter clock.
But before that, it was Justine Baltazar and Marcio Lassiter who traded conversions from the arc that made it a close 99-95 game.

As Stockton missed the potential go-ahead trey, 11 ticks left, June Mar Fajardo was there for the layup that made the Beermen up by four, 103-99. Baltazar threw a Hail Mary that hit the ring, but it did not go in, marking the Beermen's breakthrough.
The nine-time PBA MVP did what was expected for him by having a huge double-double of 27 points and 17 rebounds, while CJ Perez had an all-around showing of 24 points, five rebounds, five assists, and four steals.
On the other hand, the FiberXers were dealt their third straight loss, still searching for answers in the import-laden tournament.
Baltazar finished with 19 points, while import Kylor Kelley led the rebounding department as he grabbed 20 boards in the loss.
