MANILA – Two-time PBA champion Mikey Williams aims to fill in the leader role in his new team, the Converge FiberXers, in the PBA 50 Commissioner's Cup.
Williams made his return to the PBA in their 102-94 victory over the Macau Black Knights on Wednesday in the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
The 34-year-old is looking to bring his veteran experience and leadership to the young and talented Converge squad.

"They already have a great foundation from guards to bigs. I'm just trying to insert myself where I see fit. I know I have to take a bit of a leadership role with this group. I know the coaches are asking me to be more vocal," Williams told reporters.
"Just from my experiences, I've gathered with my previous team and I'm just trying to bring that in and help the guys as best as I can," he explained.
"Just keep being a pinball that they can just come to if they need information or if I need information from them to learn how certain things go here because it's a different atmosphere, different culture, and it's new," Williams added.

With his opening game for Converge officially in the books, Williams is optimistic he will regain his form and contribute more to the FiberXers.
"In due time. No, I'm not going to rush it. It's just my first game back. I've got a long season, so it'll come when it comes, if it comes," he said.
When asked about how he's preparing to face his former team, the TNT Tropang 5G, Williams said he's not looking that far ahead.
"I'm not really focused on it. We've got Terrafirma on Saturday, so [I'm] just taking everything one game at a time. Whatever the opponent is in front of us, we'll take it from there," he said.
