MANILA, Philippines – Rain or Shine head coach Yeng Guiao said Friday that he might be close with Pampanga Governor Dennis "Delta" Pineda and Converge owner team Dennis Uy, but his team's interests come first as they collide in the upcoming PBA Season 49 Commissioner's Cup quarterfinals.
The Elasto Painters, following their 106-96 triumph over TNT to end the eliminations, were granted an outright playoff spot, booking a best-of-three clash with the FiberXers.

They secured the top six seed in the process. But in case they had lost, the Elasto Painters will be forced to play Magnolia for the eighth spot.
"Actually, sobrang malapit ako kina Delta tsaka kina Dennis Uy. Pero ibang usapan ito eh," Guiao expressed, drawing laughter from the press.
Guiao, who came from a distinguished political family in Pampanga and was also the provincial vice governor from 2004 to 2013, has deep ties with the Pinedas.

Yeng is also the son of late former Pampanga governor Bren Guiao.
"Parang pamilya sila, pero pagdating sa ganito, siyempre mauuna muna 'yung interes ng Rain or Shine," Guiao shared.
"Laban-laban talaga 'to."
