MANILA — Gilas Pilipinas not just crushed Guam on Friday, but it also set a new record in rebounding output in a FIBA Asian qualifiers game.

The Nationals surpassed the previous best 59-rebound output by Iran and Lebanon, collecting 61 boards in their 87-46 shellacking of their Pacific neighbors on Friday in the FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers.

Quentin Millora-Brown, in his Gilas debut, collected 10 boards; nine-time PBA MVP June Mar Fajardo also tallied 10, and AJ Edu added eight to the total, paving the road to that record-breaking night.

Winger Dwight Ramos also accounted for five offensive rebounds—the most in this category last night—as the Filipino cagers registered 20 offensive boards.

They overwhelmed Guam in this facet, as the other side only had 36 rebounds.

This was all without star center Kai Sotto, who is recovering from an ACL injury.
