PBA ImagesMANILA — After falling at the hands of San Miguel last time around, Magnolia bounced back in a big way, dumping Blackwater, 90-75, in the PBA Season 50 Philippine Cup on Friday at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
Javi Gomez de Liano led five Hotshots in the double-digit territory with 17 points, two rebounds, two assists, and three steals, Ian Sangalang was a one rebound shy of a double-double output with a 16-9 statline, while Zav Lucero chalked up 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Raffy Verano joined the Magnolia scoring party with 12 points including 2-of-2 clip from the arc, while Jerom Lastimosa made the plays with a team-high seven assists to go with 10 points.
LA Tenorio's wards actually trailed early in the game, as the Bossing led by as much as 12 points at the 36-24 mark in the second quarter. But a huge 30-14 third frame flipped the script for Tenorio and company, taking control of the match since then.

The lead even ballooned to 23, 84-61, as the Hotshots found the dominant close out for their fifth win in seven matches.
They are now tied with NLEX, San Miguel, and Rain or Shine in the standings.
On the other hand, Blackwater absorbed its sixth straight loss, despite a decent showing early in their encounter. Sedrick Barefield was a bright spot for the Bossing, having tallied 16 points, five rebounds, and three assists.
