NBA boss Adam Silver confirmed Thursday (January 23) that he is "looking at the opportunity" to create a potential basketball league in Europe run by the powerful North American organization.
Adam Silver explained that meetings were taking place between the NBA and several stakeholders in European basketball such as club presidents and FIBA.
The NBA is a closed league, with no promotion or relegation, unlike the traditional European league model.
The league is using the Paris Games 2025 abroad to showcase its particularly attractive product, thanks in part to the presence of Frenchman Victor Wembanyama this week.
The next NBA Global Games have not yet been announced, but Silver invited people to stay tuned when asked by a reporter if Germany could be the next country to host the big league on its territory.
