La Salle superstar Kevin Quiambao. UAAP MediaMANILA, Philippines – Kevin Quiambao of De La Salle University has captured his second straight UAAP Most Valuable Player (MVP) award. 

Quiambao topped the statistical points race, garnering 81.357 statistical points (SPs) on averages of 16.6 points (a league-best), 8.6 rebounds, 4.1 assists, and 1.0 steals per game.

More than the stats, Quiambao helped his school clinch the top seed, with La Salle securing a 12-2 win-loss record by the end of the eliminations and another Final Four berth.

Following Quiambao and fellow Mythical Five member is another La Salle stalwart, Mike Phillips, who averaged 12.0 points, 11.6 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per match with 74.929 SPs.

Comprising the rest of the Mythical Five are University of the Philippines' JD Cagulangan, who posted averages of 11.8 points, 5.0 assists, and 5.0 rebounds per game, collecting 69.167 SPs; Far Eastern University’s Mohamed Konateh, who had 16.7 points, 16.7 rebounds, and 1.0 block per contest for 68.643 SPs; and University of Santo Tomas’ Nic Cabanero, who had 16.3 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per match, accumulating 61.000 SPs.

Precious Momowei of University of the East listed 67.538 SPs built on averages of 14.4 points, 12.8 rebounds, and 1.2 assists, but was disqualified from the selection due to a suspension midway through the season.

FEU’s Veejay Pre, meanwhile, was named Rookie of the Year.

Pre triumphed after tallying 50.857 SPs on 7.1 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per ballgame.
