PVL MediaMANILA -- A new season marks a fresh start for all teams in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL), including the underdogs who hope to pull off some shock results in the upcoming All-Filipino Conference.
Teams like Capital1 and Farm Fresh are looking to improve upon their performances, while ZUS Coffee and Galeries Tower have revamped their rosters in the hopes of racking up more wins.
Capital1 finished in seventh place in the Reinforced Conference thanks in large part to the prolific outputs of import Marina Tushova, and their core players are determined to fill the void left by the high-scoring spiker.
"We're excited to play and step up to fulfill the responsibilities that Marina left behind," said Capital1's Rica Rivera in Filipino. "My teammates and I are working tirelessly to ensure we deliver great performances in this upcoming conference."

Farm Fresh, meanwhile, will welcome Jolina Dela Cruz and Lorene Toring to their team along with a new coach in Benson Bocboc.
ZUS Coffee is aiming to end a 19-match losing streak and will finally unveil their first pick in the first-ever PVL Rookie Draft, towering middle blocker Thea Gagate.
The former De La Salle University standout did not play last season due to her duties with Alas Pilipinas, but is now tipped to inject confidence for ZUS Coffee, which also added veteran Jovelyn Gonzaga to the fold.
For its part, Galeries Tower, after a challenging run in the previous conference, is ready for redemption.
With the inclusion of Julia Coronel, the promising third overall pick of the 2024 PVL Draft, the team’s offense is expected to be more dynamic and consistent.
"Yes, of course. 'Yung presence niya (Coronel) sa team, talagang na-boost 'yung offense system namin," said head coach Lerma Giron. "Talagang hindi rin biro 'yung dinaanan naming nitong off-season. We tried to figure out what’s lacking in the team last season. But with Julia now in rotation, malaking bagay para sa team talaga to boost the offense of the team."
