The Philippine Women's National Football Team (PWNFT) concluded its campaign in the Pink Ladies Week with a 4-1 loss to Kenya, and coach Mark Torcaso did not hold back about the errors his players committed.
During their game against Kenya, the Filipinas saw themselves trailing in the first half after conceding two goals.
Sarina Bolden put them on board after a penalty kick in the 66th minute, but the Kenyans even furthered their lead by scoring two more goals, eventually clinching the triumph.
"I'm disappointed because I felt like throughout the week, the girls responded well to the new system. We did not execute that completely," said Torcaso.
"There were a lot of individual errors, and errors that some of the girls know that they could be better at," he went on. "Small errors, when you're trying to put together a game plan, can affect you."
Torcaso said the squad will be sticking with the new system they want to implement.
However, he emphasized that they have to minimize mistakes, and they will work hard for it.
"This was an opportunity for us to implement something. We're going to stick with that," said Torcaso. "We're still going to work hard on what we're trying to do, but we also have to understand that we can't make errors in situations that could cause us problems, and we definitely saw some of those."
